April Taylor, FNP-C
April Taylor is a family nurse practitioner certified nationally to treat patients of all ages. She started her nursing journey as an LVN working in skilled nursing facilities. She worked her way through her ADN at Lamar State College - Orange followed by her BSN at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
She enjoyed her work as an RN doing home health but felt she could better serve others in a higher capacity. She decided to complete her education at the University of Texas at Tyler. She graduated in 2019 with her Master's of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been working as a family Nurse Practitioner since that time.
She has an extensive background in primary care and has had the privilege of working with many different cultures, ages, backgrounds, and demographics. She has worked with patients of all socioeconomic statuses from indigent/uninsured patients to private practice and fully insured patients. She has worked in multiple states and enjoys providing care to whomever needs it.
She prides herself on her compassion for others and strives to practice WITH her patients not against them. She practices under a patient centered and patient driven model of care meaning the patient makes the decisions. She enjoys teaching her patients ways to control conditions and prevent disease while using the least - if any - number of medications possible.
